Hi! Thanks for checking out my website. These are some paintings and illustrations that I have completed within the last few years that i feel really capture my 'style'. I am completely self-taught and years of making mistakes (often happy ones) and discovering new techniques and forms have led me to this point.
I mainly use oilstick and acrylics along with oil paints as well as the occasional bit of mixed media. I don't prescribe to any one way of doing things because I always just kind of do whatever I feel like doing. Most of these paintings are done without any end result in mind. I'll lay down a framework and then layer it over with whatever 'feels' right. I'm constantly surprising myself at the turns and complete 180s my paintings can go through but, in the end, I am happy with the finished product... at least 90% of the time.
The themes in these works range from love, death, war, sex, and even transcendentalism. Some of the paintings do this overtly while others are more subtle but they all tell a story that is open to interpretation.
It's a ongoing exploration and is always changing. I'm working on some new paintings now so be sure to check back soon!
